Joint optimal lot sizing and preventive maintenance policy for a production facility subject to condition monitoring

چکیده
In this paper, we consider the joint optimization of economic manufacturing quantity (EMQ) and preventive maintenance (PM) policy for a production facility subject to deterioration and condition monitoring (CM). Unlike the previous joint models of EMQ and maintenance policy which used traditional maintenance approaches, we propose the proportional hazards model (PHM) to consider CM information as well as the age of the production facility. The deterioration process is determined by the age and covariate values and the covariate process is modeled as a continuous-time Markov process. The condition information is available at each inspection epoch, which is the end of each production run. The hazard rate is estimated after obtaining the new information through CM. The problem is formulated and solved in the semi-Markov decision process (SMDP) framework. The objective is to minimize the long-run expected average cost per unit time. Also, the mean residual life (MRL) of the production facility is calculated as an important statistic for practical applications. A numerical example is provided and a comparison with the age-based policy shows an outstanding performance of the new model and the control policy proposed in this paper. & 2015 Elsevier B.V. Integrated JIT Lot-Splitting Model with Setup Time Reduction for Different Delivery Policy using PSO Algorithm
This article develops an integrated JIT lot-splitting model for a single supplier and a single buyer. In this model we consider reduction of setup time, and the optimal lot size are obtained due to reduced setup time in the context of joint optimization for both buyer and supplier, under deterministic condition with a single product. Two cases are discussed: Single Delivery (SD) case, and Multi...
متن کاملJOINT ECONOMIC LOT SIZING PROBLEM IN A TWO ECHELON PRODUCTION SYSTEM WITH FINITE PRODUCTION RATE AND LEAD TIME
In this study, a two-echelon supplier-manufacturer system with finite production rate and lead time is proposed. It is assumed that shortage is not permitted and the lot size of manufacturer (second echelon) is m-factors of the lot size of supplier (first echelon) and supplier can supply the manufacturer’s lot size in several shipments in each cyc...
متن کاملOptimal Manufacturer-Retailer Policies in a Supply Chain with Defective Product and Price Dependent Demand
This study deals with a two-level supply chain consisting of one manufacturer and one retailer. We consider an integrated production inventory system where the manufacturer processes raw materials in order to deliver finished product with imperfect quality to the retailer, where number of defective product has a uniform distribution. The retailer receives product and conducts a 100% inspection....
متن کاملIncorporating Return on Inventory Investment into Joint Lot-Sizing and Price Discriminating Decisions: A Fuzzy Chance Constraint Programming Model
Coordination of market decisions with other aspects of operations management such as production and inventory decisions has long been a meticulous research issue in supply chain management. Generally, changes to the original lot-sizing policy stimulated by market prices may impose remarkable deviation revenue throughout the supply and demand chain system. This paper examines how to set the chan...

inventory model, backorder buyer , vendor, lot for lot policy In this paper, an inventory model for two-stage supply chain is investigated. A supply chain with single vendor and single buyer is considered. We assume that shortage as a backorder is allowed for the buyer and the vendor makes the production set up every time the buyer places an order and supplies on a lot for lot basis...
